Two days together as a family before my big trip to Africa and Europe. On Thursday we spent the morning down on Hollywood Boulevard with our friends, the Neubauers. We saw all sorts of things (some PG rated!) including the Hollywood stars on the walk of fame, The Mann Chinese Theater, a vintage clothing store, and the Kodak Theater (where they host the final episode of American Idol... and the Academy Awards). Thursday night we met up with 30 of our closest friends for a great dinner at Miceli's (thanks Stephanie Harner for the recommendation). The food and atmosphere were great - including a live piano player at a singing waiter. After dinner we all headed over to the Pantages Theatre to see Wicked the Musical. The show was fantastic. After the show we found our way to the stage door and got to meet several of the cast. It was GREAT!
Friday started off with a group breakfast on Universal City's CityWalk at the Creperie and then we all headed into Universal Studios. It was a challenge trying to keep everyone connected throughout the day we had so much fun! Our favorite rides included The Mummy (a high-speed rollercoaster that went forward and in reverse) and The Jurassic Park river ride - with an 86 foot vertical drop. We wrapped up our day with a "pool party" at our hotel with all of our friends.
Tomorrow morning is a big day as I head off for 3 weeks to Africa and the UK. Stephannie and the girls will be driving back to Arizona with some of our friends.
